Group therapy can be a powerful therapeutic experience. Learning from and being supported by other group members allows for a sense of community that is often missing from our busy lives.

NEW BEGINNINGS
A Stage 1 Trauma Group

This supportive group is for survivors just beginning to come to terms with the impact of sexual trauma. Focusing on establishing safety, stability, and self-care, participants will learn more about how traumatic experiences are informing their lives today.

This group is for people born in female bodies who have experienced sexual trauma.

SCHEDULE Wednesdays for 12 weeks starting 9/11/19.

DBT SKILLS

Dialectical behavior therapy is an evidence based therapy that focuses on skill building and taking empowering action in real life. Group members will learn how to participate more fully in life, cope successfully with symptoms of anxiety or depression, get unstuck from unhelpful emotional or behavioral patterns, let go of judgments of self and others, utilize skillful ways of getting through emotional crises, decrease behaviors that are creating difficulties in life, more effectively handle emotional pain, and use assertive communication.

This group will focus on Interpersonal Effectiveness skills.

ACT FOR LOVE

Single and ready to mingle but struggling to find more than Netflix and chill? This group is for you!

Participants will learn to apply Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) strategies of psychological flexibility, embracing personal values, and thought observation to your dating journey.

MINDING THE BODY - EMBODYING THE MIND

Participants will develop resources to manage traumatic stress and dysregulation. Group will focus on education about somatic embodiment that leads to healing from trauma, somatic stabilization, the threat response cycle, and how trauma affects the nervous system. We will integrate the use of mindfulness and relaxation to guide participants in self-healing and regulation in order to live a more optimal and flourishing life.

SHAME SLAYERS

Shame Slayers is a drop in group for women and non-binary people struggling with food. This open group meets weekly. Group members explore topics such as how our relationship to food relates to our relationships with people, the cultivation of self love and compassion, and underlying functions and causes of eating problems. Lovingly called "Shame Slayers" by group members, this group offers truly supportive space for members.

SCHEDULE Our ongoing Sunday, 6:30-8pm is currently full.
