Tônia completed her Bachelor of Arts in Gender Studies at UCLA and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Alliant International University. She is particularly passionate about working with individuals navigating challenges related to emotion regulation, compulsive behaviors, identity development, and complex trauma. Tonia also has a special interest in supporting third culture individuals and families as they explore identity, belonging, and connection.

Her therapeutic approach is person-centered and incorporates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). With a foundation in compassion and validation, Tonia believes therapy is a collaborative space where clients can build effective problem-solving skills, strengthen interpersonal relationships, and work toward meaningful goals. She is honored to support clients on their healing journeys. Tônia has completed intensive, specialized training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).

Tônia is Brazilian-American and spent her childhood between Rio de Janeiro, Southern California, and Holland. She feels most at home in nature, hiking and swimming are her favorite ways to recharge. When indoors, she enjoys cooking, baking, embroidery, and reading. Tônia is fluent in English and Portuguese.
